One Year of UCC
Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code becomes a model of technical excellence
Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code (UCC) services are available in all 22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, in addition to English. Furthermore, applicants can understand the UCC process and complete their registration with the help of AI.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given clear instructions to officials even before the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code to keep the registration process for various services under UCC extremely simple and to ensure the website is user-friendly so that any individual can register themselves. Accordingly, ITDA has developed the UCC website in English as well as the 22 scheduled languages included in the Eighth Schedule – Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Sindhi, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Santhali and Manipuri. This allows applicants to not only access information regarding UCC rules, procedures and required documents in their own language but also to submit their applications in that language. AI assistance can also be utilised for this purpose.
“Our government has been working with the core mantra of “simplification to solution” since day one. In the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, special emphasis was laid on ensuring that the general public faces no difficulty in registration. UCC has emerged as a successful example of technical excellence. This is why not a single complaint has been received regarding the UCC process over the past year.”
