Dehradun : Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has issued orders that drone cameras be made available upto tehsil level. In case of disaster, communication should not get disrupted. Special focus should be laid on the response time. Disaster management related training should be ensured. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat reviewed the preparations to deal with the disaster with the District Magistrates and senior officers of the government via video conferencing.

He said that necessary equipment should be purchased and there will be no shortage of funds in this. From all the District Magistrates, the Chief Minister procured the detailed information. He said that administration must be prepared to tackle any kind of situation. For this, all necessary arrangements should be ensured beforehand.

In emergency situation, the communication should not get disrupted. Response time is most important. Arrangements should be made to reach the place of incident, as soon as possible and for providing relief to the affected. Ensure arrangements for food, drinking water, kerosene, medicines and other essential commodities at the identified shelters. Check the quality of ration from time to time. All flood posts should be made operational by June 15.

Chief Minister said that coordination with para-military forces should be established. Army will also provide full support in case of disaster. Chief Minister said that in this regard, he has spoken to Army chief. Through propaganda, tourists coming from outside should be warned that they should not go near the rivers. Control room should be operational 24×7. Chief Minister also directed to pay special attention towards traffic management. He said that necessary action should be taken to remove encroachments.

In the meeting, District Magistrates gave information in detail. It was informed that alternate routes have been identified in the sensitive landslide areas. JCB, Crane and human resources should be deployed beforehand at sensitive locations, so that for the rain-disrupted routes could be opened in the shortest possible time. Arrangements for food, drinking water, kerosene, medicines and other essential items have been made at sheltered sites being set up at different places. Officers and employees have been given training of disaster management. From time to time, mock drill is also being organized.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Ranvir Singh, Chief Forest Conservator Jayraj, Secretary Amit Negi, Additional Secretary Savin Bansal and other senior officials were present.
