Dehradun : Principal Secretary, Home, Anand Bardhan, has reviewed the issues of curbing crime in police and revenue areas, CM Monitoring Dashboard ‘Utkarsh’ related KPI, law and order situation and criminal cases, by interacting with all the District Magistrates of the state, Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police and prosecution officers, via video conferencing. Through video conferencing, he conveyed to all the District Magistrates that from the month of August, name of all the districts will be published in the CM Dashboard KPI related information and hence, the situation of crime and law should be reviewed on top priority in their respective districts.

Principal Secretary directed the Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendents of Police that districts wherein cases related to murder, robbery, kidnapping and rape, urgent action should be initiated and special attention should be laid on the incidents of missing young children. The crimes against senior citizen and weak/reserved persons should be dealt with strictly. He also instructed the police officers to effectively follow the guidelines passed by the Supreme Court on reducing the road accidents.

Principal Secretary, Home, also issued instructions that in the Char Dham Yatra, police and administration should be more alert and to make sure that the Kanwar Yatra, which will start in the near future, should also progress smoothly. He also gave instructions to ensure effective security arrangements on the occasion of Eid, and hoped that all the Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police should conduct inspection of Police Stations from time to time and issue orders for the necessary improvements and told the District Magistrates that in the revenue sector, the crimes of serious nature and which are to be transferred to the police, should immediately be handed over to the police.

He also directed the District Magistrates to take effective action under the Gangster Act and the Goonda Act and also to initiate necessary action against the security agencies operating without license under the PSARA Act and also expected from them the time to time reviewing of the criminal prosecutions related to their respective districts by defining their priority and while reviewing the cases in which the accused are getting released, the appeal/revision should be filed in time.

He also gave instructions that information about the pending cases related to the National Human Rights Commission to be sent to the National Human Rights Commission on priorities basis. All District Magistrates, Senior Superintendent of Police and Superintendents of Police have been instructed that the preparations for dealing with situation of any disaster during the monsoon should be completed beforehand.

Principal Secretary instructed all the District Magistrates to send their suggestions regarding the Sakshi Sanrakshak Yojana to the government through e-mail.

In the video conferencing, Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) Ashok Kumar, Additional Secretary, Home, Ajay Routela, Vimmi Sachdeva Raman, Additional Inspector General of Police, Garhwal, Pushpak Jyoti and others were present.
